Well I am very disappointed in myself as I could not give the meaning of any of these words.However, do you really think that 12 words of your arbitrary choice are enough to judge the degree of a non native speaker of English excellence In the language? If I were you I would have given the word in two or three sentences then I would ask the viewer of the video to state the meaning(s) because no word in no language on the Earth has a meaning outside the context it is put therein.

76 years old and perfect with the 12. Secret is reading and constantly investing time on reading. Teachers may be good purveyors of these words, but nothing takes the place of a good reading discipline.

What a advantage to be between Slaves and not to be between superstar Anglosaxons. I am Polish from Czech republic and a I know Russian, not perfectly, but quite in the measure to understand what says this perfect teacher.

Some of the pronuciation mistakes identified here are only mistakes in American but not in British English (Native speakers of British English do pronounce "colonel" and "actually" with a schwa sound)

I love learning new words. I'm kiwi and we have a mumbling accent. It is like a step down from an Australian accent 🥴🥴. I'm Registered Nurse, and once worked in a stroke ward, with a linguist where we had to train and educate right sided stroke patients with slurred speech to pronounce basic words. We would joke about how horrible the kiwi accent was compared to other English-speaking countries. Doctors from America, Canada and England would offend ask me to repeat what I said 🤣🤣. It was embarrassing, to say the least. But I understood and could use the 12 words in sentences. Enjoyed the education Thank you from New Zealand 😊

I am almost 50 and I started to watch so I could see and learn something, I learned all of these in middle school, the DoE had the opposite effect, as today's kids are unfortunately ignorant due to our horrible teacher's union controlled public education system.

I was born in the US and have spoken English for 78 years. I have 4 degrees in the arts, including a doctorate, and I was a university professor for 41 years. That does not make me an expert in English pronunciation, because there is not one way of pronouncing the language. I studied a great deal of "literature" and pronounce the last syllable of the word the same as the word "tour". I am not aware of people who pronounce the last syllable as if saying "sure". It is a softer "t" of course, than the more explosive "t' with which we say words such as "touch" or "talk", but it is still a "t".
